Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first of the ten Sikh Gurus, was born in 1469 in Talwandi (now Nankana Sahib, Pakistan). His teachings emphasized equality, compassion, humility, and devotion to one God. Guru Nanak Dev Ji traveled extensively to spread his message of peace and universal brotherhood. His verses, preserved in the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, continue to guide millions around the world.
Guru Nanak Dev Ji taught the importance of truthful living, earning honestly, and sharing with others (Naam Japna, Kirat Karni, Vand Chakna).
He traveled across India, Tibet, Arabia, Sri Lanka and more to spread the universal teachings of love and equality.
